Tlokwe voting queues moving at a snails pace
Updated | By Pieter van der Merwe
The queue at the Tshupane School in Ward 26 in Tlokwe is a nightmare.
Roughly 200 frustrated residents are waiting outside the voting station, some claiming they've been there since early this morning.
Officials told JacarandaFM News the delay is due to the new regulations as ordered by the Constitutional Court and that is that no voter would be allowed in without a registered address on the voters' roll.
This has led to some voters having to turn around to first fetch their proof of address in order to vote.
Down the road at the BA Seobi Secondary School, residents complained about similar difficulties, although the situation seemed far less severe.
The voting process in Tlokwe is seen as a test case for future elections.
