A black woman to take over as 007?
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Captain Marvel star Lashana Lynch is being tipped as the next 007.
UK tabloid newspaper Daily Mail reported on Monday that the upcoming, yet-to-be-titled 25th Bond film will reveal Lynch as the new 007 with Daniel Craig’s character coming out of retirement for one last mission.
Lynch will be the first black person to be selected for this role.
There has already been a prolonged debate over whether current "Sexiest Man Alive" Idris Elba could or should replace Craig.

Craig will reprise the role of James Bond one last time.
DailyMail quoted an anonymous "movie insider", who said that the movie film opens with Bond, retired in Jamaica, being called back to action to fight a new villain played by Oscar winner Rami Malik.
"There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says: ‘Come in 007’ and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman.
"It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007."
The 31-year-old Lynch made her film debut in 2011’s Fast Girls, but her breakthrough role came earlier this year as fighter pilot Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel.
