Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters crowned Miss Universe
The Miss Universe crown has been clinched by South Africa’s Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters.
Nel-Peters took the crown at the Miss Universe final in Las Vegas on Monday.
Scores of South Africans had tuned into the live broadcast on VUZU at 02:00 to watch the action.
Demi-Leigh has been a favourite among local and international supporters.

Demi-Leigh is only the second South African to win the coveted title.
Margaret Gardiner was the first South African to win Miss Universe in 1978.
