South Africa and the United Kingdom match up on screen for an epic story of hope, resilience, pride and glory in what is one of the largest assembled casts for a South African movie.

Modder En Bloed

Modder en Bloed brings together some of the UK’ s finest acting talents and merges them with the strongest male cast an SA film has ever seen.

The Storyline sees South African actor Stian Bam portraying the role of Willem Morkel, a broken man during the Anglo Boer War, whose wife and child are killed in a British concentration camp with his farm burnt to the ground under General Kitchener’ s ‘ scorched earth’ policy.

Willem and his cohorts (Bok van Blerk, Albert Maritz, Deon Lotz) are taken to St. Helena Island where they are placed under lock and key as traitors to the Queen for attempts against the British forces in South Africa.

It is here, at Stonewood Camp that they meet men from all walks of life including the the governor of St. Helena Island (Michael Richard) and his daughter, Katherine Sterndale (Charlotte Salt).

The film was written and directed by Sean Else and produced by Llewelynn Greeff and Henk Pretorius.
