Ten people were arrested in the Cape Town central business district (CBD) on Thursday following student protests outside Parliament and the Cape Town International Conference Centre CICC).

Thousands of students from the University of Cape Town (UCT) embarked on a shutdown following the disappearance and murder of student Uyinene Mrwetyane.
Provincial police spokesperson, Andre Traut says eight of those arrested will be charged with public violence and the other two for assaulting police officers.
"They will charged and released on a warning," says Traut.
The group will appear at the Cape Town Magistrate's court on Monday.
