17 treated for injuries in JHB CBD fire
Two people were taken to hospital and at least 15 others were treated at the scene after a fire broke out in a building at the corner of Nugget and Commissioner streets in Johannesburg’s CBD, ER24 said on Sunday.
By the time the emergency services arrived at the building just after midnight, an evacuation was already under way.
Two people were taken to hospital, one with a serious cut to his head and the other with a possible ankle fracture.
While firefighters tackled the fire, at least 15 people were treated for minor smoke inhalation and scrapes and bruises.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
