2 killed in head-on collision in Carletonvile
A man and a woman have been killed in a head-on car crash early Monday morning.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says the incident occurred on the R501 outside Carletonville.
“ER24 and the provincial EMS arrived at 00h56 on Monday morning to find both wrecked vehicles on the side of the road," says ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring.
“A man was found lying motionless in one vehicle while a woman was seen lying near the second vehicle. Five other adults, a woman and four men, were walking around the scene.
“Medics assessed the patients and found that the man inside the one vehicle and the woman lying outside the second had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life.
“Unfortunately, nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead by the provincial EMS.
"The five other patients were found with moderate injuries."
Meiring adds that details surrounding the crash are unknown, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
