2 suspects shot dead, 2 cops injured in Centurion shootout

Two people were shot dead and four others left critically injured following a shootout in Hennops Park, Centurion, on Thursday.
Details are still sketchy but it’s understood a shootout ensued between police officers and several suspects on Jacaranda Street.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says paramedics arrived on the scene to find the police already in attendance.
“On closer inspection, medics found two male suspects lying inside a light motor vehicle while two others were found lying outside the car.
“Two local officers were also found just a short distance away.”

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula on Wednesday launched a new security plan for Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa), saying the department be in-sourcing over 3 000 security personnel to help protect infrastructure, especially railways. Unite Behind's Zukiswa Vuka says they want to know how the plan is going to be rolled out.
The two officers were then airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a nearby hospital.
“The two remaining suspects were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital,” said Meiring.
Police are on the scene investigating.
