4 killed in N1 collision
Four people were killed and at least 23 others injured following a multiple-vehicle collision on the N1 between the Grasmere toll plaza and the N12 on Sunday.
Johannesburg metro police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar says traffic officials believe heavy mist and smoke from a nearby grass fire were contributing factors to the crash.
"The accident scene has been cordoned and motorists are been diverted at the Grasmere tollgate."
Minnaar says four trucks, two buses and ten motor cars were involved.
Motorists were advised to use alternative routes on Sunday morning.
