5 suspects nabbed for attempted robbery in Melrose
Police have arrested five suspects following a shootout at a BP garage on Corlett Drive in Melrose, north of Johannesburg, on Wednesday.
The police’s Mavela Masondo says the five suspects were travelling in in two separate cars.
"As police were approaching the suspects, one of them pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the police, it's then the police shot him in the leg.”

All five suspects were arrested and police managed to recover an unlicensed firearm.
The injured suspect is receiving treatment under police guard in hospital.
Police are investigating whether the suspects could be linked to other crimes in the Melrose and Sandton area.
