5 things you need to know about the Zille/Maimane press conference

Here are five things you need to know about the Democratic Alliance's (DA) press briefing on Helen Zille.
1. Former DA leader Helen Zille will vacate her position on all decision-making structures of the party, including the Federal Executive, Federal Council and provincial council of the DA. She will however stay on as premier of the Western Cape.
2. Zille gave an unreserved apology for her tweets on colonialism, saying she regrets undermining DA leader Mmusi Maimane.
3. The DA has halted all disciplinary steps against Zille.
4. Maimane told the media that he was angered by Zille's tweets on colonialism.
5. Maimane was full of praise for the work done by Zille as premier of the Western Cape. She will remain part of the DA's provincial caucus.
