65-year-old woman seriously injured in Free State farm attack

A 65-year-old woman has sustained serious injuries in a farm attack in the Ladybrand area in the Free State, paramedics said on Sunday.
Shortly before 6pm on Saturday, paramedics from ER24 were called to assist with a patient at a doctor’s practice in Ladybrand, ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak said.
Upon their arrival they found the woman with serious facial fractures. She was stabilised on the scene and rushed to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
“It is understood that members of her family found her in her home on the farm and rushed her through to the doctor’s practice.”
The circumstances surrounding the attack were not yet known, Vermaak said.
