President Cyril Ramaphosa has added his voice in the calling for swift justice to track down those responsible for killing six law enforcement officers within three days.
The President addressed the media at the start of the annual Presidential Golf Challenge at the Atlantic Beach Golf Estate in Melkbosstrand in Cape Town on Thursday morning.
"This is the new way we want to do things in our country. Within 72 hours we want answers, we want arrests, we want this to be dealt with."
President Ramaphosa applauded the eNgcobo community for mobilising against the incident.
"In the past, people would have just accepted it as they moved on, but this time they say no."
The small town near Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape was plunged into shock and tragedy after five police officers and a retired soldier were killed in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The gunmen robbed an ATM before attacking the police station and also fleeing with firearms stolen from the police safe.
A task team of senior Hawks detectives are part of the investigation.
"When there is a disaster like this, it should be attended to with maximum speed", said the President.
