The suspects, six men, and two women were arrested on Wednesday at the Vryburg and Ganyesa municipal licencing and testing centres, Letlhabile near Brits and Kuruman in Northern Cape.

The police’s spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone says the bust was the result of a takedown operation by the Provincial Organised Crime Unit, Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit, Crime Intelligence, and the Road Traffic Management Corporation.

“The suspects reportedly conducted a number of unlawful drivers and learners licences transactions in exchange for money,” says Mokgwabone.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Vryburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on various corruption and fraud-related charges.
