AA: Petrol, diesel price drop in store for December
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The Automobile Association (AA) says the fuel price outlook for December is a mixed bag, although the price of petrol is likely to drop.
Both petrol and diesel are expected to decrease, while illuminating paraffin is expected to increase.
"Petrol is set to drop by up to 36c/l but by contrast, diesel will likely only see a 4c drop. Meanwhile, illuminating paraffin is showing an increase of almost 10c/l,” says AA spokesperson Layton Beard.

"It is quite unusual to have such a spread of price outlooks as is currently the case.”
Beard says the stronger rand is currently being countered by a sharp spike in international oil prices.
"Fortunately, the rand has fended off most of these increases, and has appreciated strongly against the US dollar, dipping below R15.50 to the dollar on November 10."
