CALITZ RELEASE - News agency Al Jazeera is reporting that the Italian government paid more than half a million US dollars for the release of South African hostage Debbie Calitz and her boyfriend Bruno Pelizarri, when they were freed in 2012 after being held captive in Somalia for 20 months.

KOHLER-BARNARD PLEADS - The DA's Dianne Kohler-Barnard has pleaded guilty to three charges, including misconduct, after she shared a post on social media, which stated that South Africa fared much better under the rule of apartheid-era leader PW Botha. 


The party's Federal Executive will now have to decide what disciplinary action will be taken against Kohler-Barnard. 


Some of the steps that could be taken against Kohler-Barnard include suspension, or a complete dismissal from the party.
