Poachers
have left the Akwaaba Predator Park in shock after they slaughtered five of its
lions in Rustenburg on Tuesday.
The park’s general manager, Bronwyn Moss, says the security company alerted the park authorities after noticing something is amiss.
Moss says upon arrival, the park's manager Pieter de Jager found the dead animals.
"There was a lot of blood. Three of those lions were not ours, they were boarding by us, and two were ours," says Moss.
She adds out of the five lions killed, one had its face and paws removed.
The park has offered a reward of R110,000 for anyone who has any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects.
