Police say armed men walked into the Eden Park South African Police Service (SAPS) and robbed it of a rifle in the early hours of Thursday morning.
According to police spokesperson, Manare Ramotshela, the four suspects stole an R5 rifle from the safe.
He says the men entered via the station's community service centre, where they held a female police officer at knife point.
Two of the men then proceeded to the safe with the officer and stole the rifle.
According to Ramotshela, the other officers on duty, were standing outside at the time.
No injuries have been reported.
Gauteng police spokesperson Mathapelo Peters says an urgent investigation is underway.
