Alleged Brendin Horner killers back in court
The DNA results in the matter between the state and two men accused of killing young farm manager, Brendin Horner, will be under the spotlight during the duo's appearance in the Senekal Magistrate's Court in the Free State on Tuesday.
The case has been hampered by numerous delays due to the unavailability of DNA results following the killing of Horner at Paul Roux in October 2020.
The accused, 32-year-old Sekwetja Mahlambi and the 44-year-old Sekola Matlaletsa, who are both in custody, are heading back to court to face charges of murder.
The state previously said a DNA sample, taken from the bloodied trousers of Mahlambi in Fateng Tse-Ntsho, near Paul Roux, was being analysed by the state's laboratory.

In October last year, accused number two Matlatesa was granted bail of R5 000 but was re-arrested a few weeks later.
During the bail hearing, the investigating officer revealed that there was no DNA evidence yet linking the accused to the crime.
The bloodstained clothes and knife that were found inside a freezer located at Mahlamba's shack, was still undergoing forensic testing.
The suspects, in their affidavits, said the blood on the clothes was that of an animal they helped to slaughter.
Both have been arrested before on stock theft charges.
They are both pleading not guilty.
Horner was strangled to death and stabbed several times.
