Alleged Joburg sex worker killer to hear fate in March
Updated | By Masechaba Sefularo
Judgment in the case of alleged serial killer Sifiso Mkhwanazi will be handed down on March 13.

The defence and prosecution concluded their closing arguments in the High Court sitting in Palm Ridge on Wednesday.
Mkhwanazi is facing several charges, including rape and murder after he admitted to killing six sex workers whose bodies were found at his father’s car workshop in 2022.
Prosecutor Lesikwane Mashabela said the state stands by its case that Mkhwanzi planned to rape and kill his victims despite his insistence that sex with the deceased was consensual.
“The only inference to be drawn is that they were bound on the mouth to prevent the deceased person to scream. Why would you do that if there was consensual intercourse?”
Meanwhile, Mkhwanazi’s lawyer said his client also stands by his admissions wherein he said the killings were triggered by fear of being wrongfully arrested, like in the 2021 rape charge, for which he was ultimately acquitted.
