A 29-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of a University of Limpopo lecturer is expected to appear in the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
The man was arrested after Freddy Madiba, 50, was found dead in front of his rented house at the institution on Monday.
Police spokeswoman Colonel Ronel Otto said Madiba was found in his wheelchair in front of his house by family members. He had open wounds on his head.
“It appeared he might have been killed somewhere else and then brought to the rented house in the university premises. He had several open wounds to his head,” Otto said at the time.
The man was arrested on Monday and would face a charge of murder.
