Alleged robber shot and killed in Centurion
An alleged robber was shot and killed in Centurion on Tuesday morning.
ER24's Russel Meiring says they were called to the scene after an apparent robbery ended on Old Johannesburg Road in Hennopspark.
"Upon arrival on scene, paramedics found the body of a man lying a short distance away from his vehicle. The man was assessed and found to have sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Nothing could be done for the man and he was declared dead on the scene," said Meiring.

Meiring says a second man was found lying near his vehicle.
"Assessments showed that the man was in a critical condition, having sustained a gunshot wound to his chest," says Meiring.
Meiring says the man was transported to Tembisa Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
"Two other men were assessed and found to have escaped injury. Both men were taken into custody by local authorities," says Meiring.

Meiring says it is understood that the four men had apparently robbed a nearby restaurant.
"Local authorities gave chase with this incident resulting in a shootout," he says.
