Analyst: The ANC is to blame for Zuma drama
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
Political analyst, Ralph Mathekga believes the African National Congress (ANC) must take responsibility for allowing President Jacob Zuma to hold the country hostage.

"He said that the people still love him. He lives in his own world. He's got this incredible ability to ignore everyone around him, and this time he is even ignoring the ANC."
Mathekga's comments follow speculation that the president reportedly rejected the decision by the governing party's highest decision making body for him to step down.
Members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) were deliberating in a special marathon meeting till early Tuesday morning to finalise Zuma's exit and make way for deputy president, Cyril Ramaphosa.
Mathekga believes the delay can be attributed to Zuma's exit demands resulting in a deadlock.
"One can identify this by just merely looking at the troubles he finds himself in. There is the question of legal fees because the president likes to go to court and even if he leaves office he will still possibly face those corruption charges. He wants political support and the fees to be covered."
The NEC is set to hold a media briefing on the outcomes of the special meeting on Tuesday.
