ANC dealing with 'war room': Mantashe
Updated | By Samkelo Maseko
ANC Secretary General Gwede Mantashe says the war room saga is an internal matter - and it is being dealt with.
Mantashe briefed the media at the party's headquarters in Johannesburg after a three day National Executive Committee (NEC) lekgotla.
Mantashe says the war room saga is a very sensitive issue.
The Secretary General has pleaded with the media to allow the party some space to deal with the fallout.
Mantashe wouldn't say whether they have suspended the General Manager, Ignatius Jacobs, for his alleged involvement in the covert operation during the local government election.
"Please allow us to deal with this matter. We are appealing with you to give us space to deal with this matter. We take it very seriously. It is serious matter to us. I would image that recordings and all those things will fall under disciplinary evidence. If there are recordings they will be brought as evidence to disciplinary processes," says Mantashe.
