The Pietermaritzburg High Court decision found that the ANC's 2015 8th provincial elective conference was unlawful.

The case was brought by ANC councillor Lawrence Dube against the ANC in May 2016.

Former premier Senzo Mchunu was ousted as chairperson & replaced by KZN chair Sihle Zikalala.
