ANC NEC meeting to focus on land, crime and racism
Updated | By Samkelo Maseko
ANC Secretary General Gwede Mantashe says the defiance of the party's Nelson Mandela Bay chairman Andile Lungisa is not on the agenda for this weekend's National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

Mantashe says the party's NEC will meet to discuss issues of land, crime and racism.
"We are also tabling the annual report on the state of the organisation. It will be an overview of 2016 and try to craft a way forward," Mantashe says.
Lungisa had until yesterday to resign, but said he would wait for the NEC to make a ruling on the matter before making a decision.
The party's top six officials sent him a letter, asking him to step down.
Mantashe says Lungisa can't refer the issue to the NEC.
"Some of us don't understand how the NEC works. The NEC cannot be converted into a disciplinary committee. Those things are dealt with by smaller committees."
