Updated | By Laila Majiet
The African National Congress (ANC) has removed Makhosi Khoza as the chairperson of the parliamentary portfolio committee on public service and administration.

The ANC MP has been removed from this position with immediate effect.
Khoza has been a vocal critic of President Jacob Zuma.
She had also called for a secret ballot during the motion of no confidence and indicated that she would vote in favour of the motion.

On Wednesday, ANC MPs who sit on that committee refused to attend a meeting.
The MPs boycotted the meeting because they object to Khoza's leadership. They believe Khoza has breached ANC discipline.
The Office of ANC Chief Whip Jackson Mthembu says that it's received a directive to remove Khoza from her position.
It cites the irretrievable breakdown of relations between herself and ANC members of the committee.
