The ANC is expected to finalise the issue of an additional deputy secretary-general in its top 6 leadership structure.
Party spokesperson Pule Mabe briefed the media on various issues on Saturday evening as the ANC reached the tailend of day two of its national conference at Nasrec, south of Joburg.
The briefing came as delegates headed back into a plenary session where the credential report was set to be presented for adoption.
“When we go back to plenary the credentials report will be presented for adoption," said Mabe.

"Once credentials are adopted we will move to formalise and finalise amendments. Some of the amendments impact on the composition of the national officials. You are all aware that coming into this national conference and at the policy conference one of the issues that came up was the introduction of the second deputy secretary-general."
The current candidates for the position are Febe Potgieter and Nomvula Mokonyane.
In the final nominations list, Mokonyane got the support of 1779 branches, while Potgieter received 905.
