The party says the night vigil is meant to show support for the motion of no confidence against Democratic Alliance (DA) Mayor, Solly Msimanga.

The party will submit the motion during Thursday's council meeting.

The ANC's Bafuze Yabo says the party is standing up against the corruption, nepotism and poor service delivery in the DA-led city.

"In factual fact, we are saying to our people; we are willing to spend a sleepless night to rid the city administration of such malfeasance."

He adds the party has a track record of dealing with corruption in the cit,y while the DA cannot say it has done the same.

"Solly must show us when has he dealt with corruption under his watch, except when we have blown the whistle."
