Angelo Agrizzi suffers cardiac arrest in hospital
Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
Corruption-accused former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi has suffered a sudden cardiac while receiving treatment in hospital on Wednesday.
Agrizzi was admitted to a high-care ward in a private hospital on Monday.
He initially spent less than a week at a public facility.
His lawyer Daniel Witz says he will remain under strict care.
"I can confirm that Mr Agrizzi suffered from cardiac arrest yesterday (Wednesday). The doctors and medical staff managed to respond quickly and resuscitate and stabilize him, however, he still remains in a very serious condition under strict health care."
Agrizzi’s condition was thrust into the spotlight after he was denied bail by the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court in his fraud and corruption case.
Witz says the High Court will hear his application to appeal the ruling on Monday.
