In a statement, the Hawks say the arrest is part of their ongoing investigation into the activities of the Christian Resistance Movement, also called the Crusaders.

Harry Knoesen, brothers Eric and Errol Abrams, and Riana Heymans have already all been charged with contravening the Protection of Constitutional Democracy against Terrorist and Related Activities Act.

Their arrest followed a two-year investigation into an alleged terrorist plot in which the group targeted national key points, shopping malls, and informal settlements.

According to the Hawks' Hangwani Mulaudzi: "The suspect was arrested on Thursday in disruptive operation by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Investigation, Crime Intelligence and the Provincial Flash unit at his business premises."

He says: "The suspect is believed to have links with the other four suspects that have already been arrested and charged for alleged terrorist activities."

The suspect is expected to make his first appearance in Kuilsrivier Magistrate on Friday.
