Application to appeal Myeni’s delinquency case struck off court roll

Former South African Airways (SAA) chairperson Dudu Myeni’s attempt to oppose her delinquency status has suffered yet another blow.
Myeni remains a delinquent director after the Pretoria High Court struck her appeal off the roll on Monday.
The order took effect immediately after the ruling was handed down.
Myeni must immediately withdraw from all remaining directorships.
CEO for the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa) Wayne Duvenage has welcomed the court’s decision.
“Outa is delighted by the court order today which struck her case off the roll and really ensures that her delinquent director status applies until the matter, if it ever is heard in the Supreme Court of appeal, is finalised.
“This is a good ruling in our favour once again in this drawn-out matter.”
Myeni was declared a delinquent director in May following a lengthy court battle.
Outa and the SAA Pilots’ Association (SAAPA) dragged Myeni to court amid claims that she was to blame for SAA’s financial crisis during her six-year term at the entity.
They accused her of collapsing and delaying deals that could have averted SAA's financial woes.
“We will stay the course in this matter until it is heard in the highest courts, until this matter is out to bed but we strongly believe that Dudu Myeni must remain a delinquent direct for life,” Duvenage adds.
