The questions were sent to Ramaphosa by Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane before her suspension by the president.

The burglary at Ramaphosa’s Limpopo farm came to light when former spy boss Arthur Fraser opened a criminal case in June, claiming the president used state resources to hide the theft of millions of dollars from his Phala Phala farm.

ATM national spokesperson Sibusiso Mncwabe says the party should have been informed when the president failed to meet the deadline.

"We as the party are the complaint in the matter, its us who submitted the matter for investigation in that office. Procedurally, we should have been informed when the president requested for an extension and be told the time frame of the extension and the reasons, that was not done.

“The statement to the public was not issued by that office, it's up until we wrote on our Twitter page that we have just learned with shock that there is a secret deal between the PP and the Office of the President, its only after that we saw the statement from the office of the public protector.

We seeked a legal opinion from our lawyers, whether can't we apply to court to nullify the extension given to the president. Our lawyers will come back to us on Monday.”
