'Back to the drawing board' for ANC in Joburg
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The African National Congress (ANC) in Johannesburg says it will be going back to the drawing board to develop an effective opposition strategy.
On Monday, the ruling party lost the mayoral position to the Democratic Alliance (DA) by over 20 seats.
“We wish to congratulate the new Speaker, Mayor and Chief Whip of Council.
“To this end, the ANC will go back to the drawing board to ensure that a clear and effective opposition strategy is developed,” says the ANC's Dada Morero.

The ANC was dealt a double blow, when it lost both the City of Ekurhuleni and Joburg in just one day.
It's expected that the ANC will also lose Tshwane on Tuesday, when the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) vote with the DA.
