Nolubabalo "Babsie" Nobanda has returned to South Africa to warm embraces and tears of joy.

Nobanda - who was caught smuggling cocaine in her dreadlocks in Bangkok - landed at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg on Thursday.
She was jailed after being caught with 1.5 kilograms of cocaine mixed with baking powder, styled into her dreadlocks, at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok in December 2011.

Nobanda was handed a 30-year sentence, which was reduced to 15 years due to her pleading guilty and cooperating with local authorities.
Upon her arrival back home, Nobanda said she is excited about catching up with her family.
"What I can say for now it's good to be back home and I want to thank all South Africans for all the support through the eight years. It hasn't been easy but my people have been behind me.
"I'm back. I'm back home and I'm back home stronger. And I just want to spend time with my family and talk to them and catch up, it's been long."
