Mweli says although Physical Science has improved slightly there's a lot of work to be done.

"Other goals are improving the participation of Mathematics and Physical Science. We are doing everything in our power to make sure that we increase participation and the success rate in both Mathematics and Physical Science.

"We agree with the observation that we are making some movement in Physical Science but Mathemtics has remained static."

Mweli says six out of nine provinces attained an 80% pass rate.

"There's an overall improvement in the system. No province performs below 70% and by the way six of the nine provinces are sitting comfortably at 80%.

"You can do your arithmetic then you can tell the nation where we are heading.”
