Bloemfontein teen sentenced for rape

The Bloemfontein Regional Court sentenced a 15-year-old boy for the rape of his two sisters on Thursday

The teen was convicted of raping his sisters in December 2018 and June 2020.
He was arrested after the grandmother reported the rape to the police.
The brother and his two sisters all lived with the grandmother in Bloemfontein at the time.
"During December 2018 and June 2020, it was discovered that the 15-year-old raped his 10 and eight-year-old sisters several times. He threatened them if they refused to adhere to his evil commands,” said police spokesperson Mahlomola Kareli.
"Investigations led by Sergeant Tiisetso Lentsa of Mangaung Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit, together with the police Forensic Social workers, obtained necessary evidence and statements from the victims."
The 15-year-old has been sentenced to 10 years for rape which he will serve at a local youth centre.
