Bodies of Limpopo man, daughter found in suspected murder-suicide

The two bodies were found hanging from roof beams in a room at the back of their house on Malebye Street in Bela Bela township on Sunday.

"Preliminary investigations suggest a devastating scenario wherein a man took the life of his young daughter before potentially taking his own,” says police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba. 

"While the mother was absent at the time of the incident, the presence of underlying domestic challenges cannot be dismissed. 

Provincial police commissioner Thembi Hadebe has called on members of the public to seek professional help when experiencing domestic-related issues. 

"The heart-wrenching discovery of two lifeless bodies—an adult male and a young child - serves as a sober reminder of the urgent need to seek support when facing domestic challenges."
