Police arrested a male suspect at a residence in Cradock, Eastern Cape, on Monday in connection with the kidnapping.
The 54-year old was then transported by police to Cape Town late on Wednesday evening.
After his arrival, he directed the police to the location where Wyk's body was found.
Western Cape police spokesperson, Novela Potelwa, says detectives spent several days looking for the body of the missing girl.
"The suspect was brought to Cape Town late last night. He pointed the team to a storm water pipe outside Worcester where they discovered the child's body," says Potelwa.
She has confirmed that the original charge against the suspect will now be amended.
"He will be charged with murder and will appear at the Goodwood Magistrate's court on Friday," concludes Potelwa.
