The police in Free State have recovered the body of one more person who was swept away by the mudslide in Jagersfontein.
A dam wall collapsed on Sunday the 11 September in Jagersfontein, killing at least one person and injuring several others, while one more person is said to still be missing.
The body was recovered by the Free State Police K9 Search and Rescue Unit, working together with Police Divers, on Friday.
Free State Acting Provincial Commissioner Solly Lesia says the victim's body was found by 30 kilometres downstream into the river.
"Though working under unfamiliar conditions with mud and different hazardous debris, the team continued to search the area for the reported missing victims.
“The persistant and never say die attitude of our Search and Rescue Teams deployed in the area will ensure that families get closure," says Lesia.
The police's search for the missing person continues.
