The 46-year-old suspect was arrested on Tuesday.

Jacaranda FM has reliably learnt that the suspect is a parolee from the far-right Boeremag group that was sentenced for treason in 2013.

Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo said the suspect will appear in Bronkhorstspruit Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

"Police can confirm that cases of rape and sexual grooming was opened at Boschkop Police Station and transferred to Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit for investigation. The investigation led to the arrest of the suspect."

The Boeremag was an Afrikaner rightwing group that attempted to overthrow the ANC government and chase all non-whites out of the country.

The also had plans to assassinate former president Nelson Mandela.

When the first Boeremag members were arrested, others attacked the police air wing at Grand Central Airport, and blew up railway lines, bridges, and a Buddhist temple.

Twenty-six of its members were arrested, and 20 convicted of high treason by the High Court in Pretoria in 2012.

Their sentences ranged from five to 48 years imprisonment.
