Brace yourself for Tshwane taxi strike
Updated | By Laila Majiet & Sibahle Motha
Commuters and motorists could be left stranded due to a taxi strike on Wednesday.

There are fears that the strike could bring traffic to a standstill as well as cause major disruptions on arterial routes in Tshwane.
However, organisers are adamant they have no intention to block the roads.
The National Taxi Alliance (NTA) plans to march to the Transport Department and Union Buildings.
NTA spokesperson Theo Malele says drivers will meet at the old Putco depot at 08:30.
He details their planned route:
Malele says: “We will march peacefully to go and deliver a memorandum of grievances. Those intending to break the law should face the full might of the law.”
He says the drivers’ grievances include the non-issuing of operating licences, the non-subsidisation of the taxi industry as well as the Aarto Bill.
Grade 12 pupils who are writing their final exams could be severely impacted by the strike.
They are expected to write English Paper 2 on Wednesday.
