Buildings torched during Rustenburg rampage
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Six buildings have been torched in Rustenburg after local residents went on a rampage over a drug problem in the area.

The buildings were torched in the Rustenburg CBD on Wednesday night.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone says the torched buildings belong to foreign nationals.
"Apparently most of the houses that were torched yesterday were occupied by foreign nationals but this is subject to a police investigation," says Mokgwabone.
The torching of buildings can be linked to a drug problem in the area.

Mokgwabone says there are accusations from the community that police are not doing enough to curb drug related issues in the area.
"There are those who are also accusing young boys of selling drugs in and around the township," adds Mokgwabone.
Police say the situation in Rustenburg has since calmed down.
"We have our deployments in area. Police and other law enforcement officials and we urge members of the community to cooperate with them and comply with any directive that they may get from law enforcement officials because that will be in the interest of their own safety," says Mokwabone.
No arrests have been made.
