Spokesperson, Daniel Mavimbela says the remains were found inside the boot of the burnt out Taxify vehicle.
"Both the cause and motive behind the incident are still a subject of investigation."
Mavimbela says the relatives of the deceased still need to be tracked down.
Drivers and customers using the app driven transportation service, have come under attack, allegedly by meter operated taxi drivers.
They claim that Taxify and its competitor, Uber, have been dominating the market and not allowing for metered taxi drivers to share in the profits.
Meanwhile, Taxify says it will co-operate with law enforcement agencies as part of the investigation into the murder.
