Self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary have handed themselves over to law enforcement in the Malawian capital Lilongwe.
Malawian media reports indicate that the couple handed themselves over at a police station on Wednesday.
The fraud accused Bushiri, who skipped bail and fled to his native country last week, also issued a statement on Wednesday morning.
He slammed Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi for saying that couple has five different passports,
Motsoaledi made the remark during an appearance before Parliament’s home affairs committee on Tuesday.

“The minister went on to state that my wife and I hold five different passports each. The impression is that these are passports with different names and details. Once again, this issue is before the High Court in South Africa,” Bushiri said.
“This statement by the minister further strengthened my fear that I will not get a fair trial in South Africa.
“For the record, my wife has 5 passports each, one of which is a diplomatic passport and one is a normal passport. We submitted all these passports to the Investigating Officer in South Africa.”
It is still unclear how the Bushiris were able to leave South Africa.
A second warrant of arrest four the couple was issued by the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday.
