Call to revive NUM
Updated | By Samkelo Maseko
A call has been made for the revival of the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM).

The union's General Secretary, David Siphunzi says the once powerful union has lost respect in society.
Siphunzi delivered the keynote address at the union's youth structure elective conference.

He urged the youth to take up the challenge of change.
"The decline of militancy within the NUM has resulted in us losing respect, not only from the employers, but from the very same workers and the society at large...let's not blame others for the loss of respect, let's blame ourselves," says Siphunzi.
