The Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety has urged motorists to be careful on the roads, following the heavy rains that led to flash floods on Friday afternoon.
The current front moving across the country is expected to bring with it some more light rain and isolated thundershowers over the weekend, while there was also a prediction for the first snowfall over the Drakensberg mountains.
"The flooding in Mbombela and other parts of the province has not been that bad, but we had a few incidents where cars got stuck in the water," says Moeti Mmusi from the provincial department of public safety.

He says there have however been no major accidents.
