Some 48 000 people are expected to attend the event tomorrow at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Along with being briefed on security measures in place, Cele also addressed a police parade.

He has given the assurance that Saturday's coronation event will be among the safest events the country has host.

He withheld disclosing the number of deployed officers for what he said was security reasons, but said they were brought in from various units - ranging from public order police, traffic control, and tactical response teams and that they will also be having eyes in the sky at all times.

He says they have even factored in the volume of attendees, saying the 48 000 present will be less than the stadium's full capacity of 85 000 in the event that a stampede should break out.

Cele says while they were court off guard during last year's unrest, this will not be the case, adding that since then, his ministry has successfully acted and averted a number of possible national threats.
