Fifteen people were gunned down at the establishment in Nomzamo Informal Settlement in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Most of the victims were from KwaZulu-Natal.

Police also found over 130 empty AK-47 cartridges on the scene, along with cartridges from smaller pistols.

The five gunmen fled in a white minibus.

Cele visited the area on Monday to address community members.

"We believe that it's a criminality that coincidentally happened at the same time," he said, referring to a similar incident in Pietermaritzburg which claimed the lives of four people.

Meanwhile, Cele says police are still waiting for the toxicology results from the Enyobeni tavern tragedy, where 21 young people died last month.
