Charges dropped against 'Lion Mama'
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has decided to drop the charges against an Eastern Cape mother who stabbed her daughter's alleged rapist to death.

Last month, the mother of the 27-year-old, who cannot be named to protect her daughter's identity, stabbed three men who allegedly gang raped her daughter in Qumbu.
One of the men died, while the other two survived.
NPA spokesperson in the Eastern Cape, Luxolo Tyali, says the senior public prosecutor declined prosecution based on a lack of evidence.

"The lady is now free and has no case to answer."
Tyali says the two suspects will appear in court on Wednesday.
"They are still facing a charge of rape and that matter will be referred to the High Court."
